He Refuses to Leave Me Alone!

Hebrews 13:5

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”

He impresses me with how He is slow to anger, especially with my empty promises, cool and calm convictions, and constant compromise.

He woos me by keeping me in the midst of it all and kisses me with His kindness every morning. He wakes me and gives me the mind to seek His way and not my own. I often choose my way only to find out it’s not His will!

He never misses when my head and shoulders alter my posture, never leaving me nor forsaking me with His hand on me, lifting my head so I can see the way He’s made for me.

He sees my tears in sorrowful darkness and my genuine laughter in joy, my mock-worthy misery in pain, and my growth after going through it all. He sees my heart when my faith takes a blow and fills me with a hope that can never disappoint me, because God has poured out His love into my heart through the Holy Spirit whom He has given me.

He sees me, mercifully chastises me, and then cheers me up when He sees me leaning towards condemning myself instead of encouraging myself. The Lord is truly a refuge, a stronghold, a very present help in time of trouble. We have a blessed assurance, a blessed hope, and a blessed life; Romans 8:28 says so.

Meditation: Regardless of the challenges with mind, body, and spirit, instead of giving up on God, I give Him all my heavy baggage and my carry-on luggage. I’m going to sit down, stay out of His way, and rest! Preparing for takeoff! Because where I’m headed, I’ll be prepared to share what God has done for me!
